Cornerstone started providing services in 1973 after the passage of state legislation and county ordinances. We serve Greenwood, Edgefield, McCormick, and Abbeville counties in South Carolina. Cornerstone is licensed by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC) and is accredited nationally by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

What We Treat

At Cornerstone, Abbeville we treat a variety of addictions and substance use disorders. Our addiction treatment programs can treat a wide variety of substance use disorders, including those caused by:


Cornerstone also does outreach and education for at-risk populations, in addition to  DUI re-licensure in accordance with state law, and other addiction specific programs. It is our mission to provide education, prevention, intervention, and treatment to those struggling with substance use issues of all kinds, which means we must offer comprehensive care targeting every facet and stage of substance use disorders.

Our Addiction Treatment Programs

Pregnant With IV Substance User Programs

We offer dedicated treatment and educational opportunities for expectant mothers living with IV substance use disorder. Our team works with them throughout their pregnancy to help them place their, and their unborn child’s, health first.

Outpatient Program

Our outpatient programming offers one-on-one therapy, group therapy, and other treatment options without requiring clients to stay overnight in the clinic.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive outpatient programs are designed to help client’s deal with severe substance use disorders through the use of near daily appointments.

Prevention Programs

Our prevention program identifies youths and adults in our community who may be at risk of developing substance use disorder and works to provide them with the resources needed to make healthy decisions.

ADSAP (DUI Re-Licensure)

Also called the Alcohol Drug and Safety Program, ADSAP the re-licensure and educational program required for people with DUI suspended license to have their driver's license reinstated.

Employment Assistance

We work with clients to find gainful employment that aligns with their skills and experiences while also aligning with their therapy goals.

Alcoholics & Narcotics Anonymous

Cornerstone Abbeville offers both Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings in which our clients can form lasting and supportive bonds with those experiencing similar struggles in their own lives.


We offer training to businesses and organizations regarding US Dept. of Transportation (DOT) regulations to prevent alcohol and substance users from performing transportation safety-sensitive tasks that may put people in danger. Along with this, we have trained Substance Use Professionals (SAP) who evaluate employees who have violated DOT regulations and make recommendations to relevant parties.


We work alongside the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) to provide needed educational and support services throughout South Carolina.
