Alcohol Enforcement Team
The Alcohol Enforcement Team project is a collaborative effort involving the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, the county alcohol and drug abuse authorities, local law enforcement agencies, and community partners.
The AET project implements environmental strategies to reduce alcohol access to individuals under 21 years old through high visibility enforcement in conjunction with an active public education and prevention strategy. Enforcement strategies include retailer compliance checks, public safety checkpoints, controlled party dispersals, and saturation patrols.
Cornerstone coordinates the AET project within the 8th Judicial Circuit (Greenwood, Abbeville, Laurens, and Newberry Counties).
In McCormick and Edgefield Counties, the agency collaborates with our 11th Judicial Circuit partners at LRADAC and the Midlands AET.
