Cornerstone's prevention services are designed to help residents of Greenwood, Edgefield, McCormick, and Abbeville counties avoid the dangers of substance use, misuse, and abuse. We strive to keep young people from experimenting with alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and to prevent the development of subsequent problems.
To help in achieving this goal, Cornerstone seeks to involve the community in developing and implementing comprehensive plans to address substance abuse.
Our programs are research based and proven to be effective. Using the Risk and Protective model, our programs are designed to identify and reduce factors that place an individual or a community at risk of experiencing problems, while at the same time, strengthening other identifiable factors that can help protect individuals and communities from developing such problems.
Consultation and training is available for schools, neighborhoods, businesses, churches, and other community groups. Programs are continuously developed to address the current issues surrounding substance abuse in our communities.
